November 24,2024 The Meaning of Thanksgiving and Real Family Traditions >Thanksgiving Day, annual national holiday in the United States and Canada celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year. Americans generally believe that their Thanksgiving is modeled on a 1621 harvest feast shared by the English colonists (Pilgrims) of Plymouth and the Wampanoag people.Thanksgiving is a holiday that celebrates gratitude for the good things in life, and is celebrated by gathering with family and friends to share a meal. It is also a time to give thanks for food, health, family, friends, and other blessings. More specifically, after an unidentified tribe of Native people welcomed Pilgrims to America – which was their land > THE Native American Indians Land – they taught them how to live and care .It's important to know that for many Native Americans, Thanksgiving is a day of mourning and protest since it commemorates the arrival of settlers in North America and the centuries of oppression and genocide that followed. According to Strong's definitions, the Hebrew word thanksgiving is tôwdâh (to-daw') and it means confession, praise, and offering. When we give thanks in the truest sense of the biblical word, we offer God our praises and acknowledge to Him that He is the Giver of all good gifts.Thanksgiving is a chance for families to gather together and enjoy being with one another. But Thanksgiving can also be a meaningful time to reflect on our blessings and remember how God has been faithful in our lives. Many families have special Thanksgiving traditions they use to show gratitude to God and each other.

The Bible speaks of the end times in books like Revelation, Matthew, and Joel, describing a dark sky and a red moon rather than a "blood red sun." The moon turning to blood is a classic sign of the end of days before the great day of the Lord arrives. Joel 2:31: The sun turns to darkness and the moon to blood before the day of the Lord comes.Revelation 6:12: The sun becomes black like sackcloth and the full moon becomes like blood.Matthew 24:29: The sun is darkened and the moon will not give its light after the tribulation of those days. Poetic phrasing: "Blood red sun" is a popular phrase in modern poems, music, and art rather than a direct Bible quote.Prophecy meaning: These signs show major changes in nature and the power of God during judgment.Book of Isaiah and Matthew: Similar cosmic disruptions and darkened lights are mentioned in Isaiah 13:10 and Matthew 24:29 regarding judgment and the return of Christ.Book of Revelation (Revelation 6:12): Describes the sun turning black as sackcloth and the full moon turning red like blood when the sixth seal is opened. Book of Acts (Acts 2:20): The Apostle Peter quotes Joel's prophecy during Pentecost as a sign from God.Signs of Judgment: These sky events show God's power over creation and mark moments of divine judgment on the world. The Day of the Lord: They act as visible warnings that a major, holy turning point in human history is near.
